Research enquiry and archiving

All the works and activities of Arnaldo Pomodoro are present and documented in the online Catalogue Raisonné, a project launched in 2019 and today completed with the publication of all eight sections: Sculptures, Drawings, Jewellery, Multiples, Graphics, Set Designs, Project Studies and Applied Arts, in addition to the areas devoted to Biography, Exhibitions, Bibliography and Public Collections. The Catalogue is a tool for work, study and consultation and is completely free and easily accessible, compiled according to accurate due diligence procedures.

If you cannot find the work in your possession in the Catalogue Raisonné or if you would like to have confirmation of archiving by the Foundation, you can send a request by following the stages below. Depending on the outcome of this process, you may then be invited to submit it for an in-person assessment by our Committee of Control.

Settle the payment of Euro 366 (VAT included) paying attention to enter the order number that appears in the payment confirmation e-mail in the form below.
Complete the online form providing as much information as possible about the artwork, including images, dimensions and provenance.

Processing of the request
Enacting due diligence procedures, we will check this information against our confidential archives and we will inform you if it ties in with the records we hold. In particular we will check published and unpublished data, including: the Arnaldo Pomodoro Catalogue Raisonné, our confidential database of the works and the recorded fakes and misattributions, provenance, materials and documents present in the archive, including exhibition catalogues and auction catalogues, unpublished photographic documentation, correspondence and work files.

What you receive
After completing the search, we will send you our answer, notifying to you that the information sent corresponds to our cataloguing data; we will then provide you with a certificate of archiving. We aim to respond to enquiries within 3 weeks. Please let us know, however, if you have a specific deadline and we will do our best to accommodate it.
We strongly recommend that works are withheld from sale and publication until a response has been received from the Foundation.

Request of physical examination of the work
In the event that there is no correspondence between the information provided and the data present in the archive, or that the work is not registered, a physical examination of the work by the Committee of Control of the Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro will be necessary. In this case, you will have to organize the delivery of the work to the Foundation within the terms that will be indicated to you. All the costs of packaging, transportation and insurance are to be met by you. Works handed over for physical examination will always be conserved with the utmost care. The Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro will not accept any responsibility for the loss or damage to the work of art due to theft, fire, losses, accidents or other unforeseen circumstances except as provided for in the art. 1229 c.c.

Opinion of the Control Committee
If the examination has a positive outcome then we will send you the Committee’s opinion on the attribution of the work to Arnaldo Pomodoro, its insertion in the Catalogue Raisonné, if not yet present, and the certificate of archiving. Otherwise, we will send you a negative opinion regarding authenticity.

Please note
In no case does Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro make any economic value judgement or appraisal of the work, nor does it issue certificates of authenticity.
