Inspired by the <emEpic of Gilgamesh<em, the first great allegorical poem in the history of humanity (around 2000 BC), the Labyrinth takes the visitor on a journey between myth and memory, discovering the roots of the human experience.
This environmental work, in the archetypal form of the labyrinth, is a perfect synthesis of the artistic and creative journey that Arnaldo Pomodoro has developed throughout his life: a reflection on his entire body of work, starting from the elaboration of ancient forms of writing, all the way to expansion into architectural dimensions and scenic space.
Born in 1995 as a work in progress, the piece is located in the underground spaces of the former Riva-Calzoni Mechanical Workshops building, which was once the exhibition venue of the Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation (2005-2011), and is now the Milan headquarters of the FENDI Maison.
