Achille Perilli
Senza titolo, 1965
mixed media on paper, 56 × 77 cm
Engaged in an abstract research based on the sign, Perilli thus participates in the poetics of the informal era, becoming one of the Italian protagonists. His greatest contribution, however, developed during the 1960s, when he organized the surface into fucks within which he outlined tangles of signs. The arrangement of the boxes makes one think of a narrative sequence, where in fact the genesis of the form is recorded, its becoming rather than its certain identity. Similar observations also apply to the work in the collection, dedicated at the bottom right "to Arnaldo, master of sculpture".
An allusively organic figure stands out at the bottom, while four sketches painted in the upper band, also highly allusive, seem to propose different versions of the same organism. The figures are defined as flattened shapes crossed by trendy lines, by arrows, which engage movement, energy, the true unifying motif of the entire composition.
