Three new bookbinding and papermaking workshops created in collaboration with Libri Finti Clandestini

From October 2024 to June 2025 the Foundation opens to the public with Open Studio #3 | Arnaldo Pomodoro. La Sfera.

Third appointment of Open Studio, the cycle of exhibitions set up in the spaces of Arnaldo Pomodoro's Studio with which the Foundation delves into and rediscovers works or moments from the artist's career. This new chapter of Open Studio focuses on the Sfera, the most iconic form of Arnaldo Pomodoro's production, which will be addressed, explored and reread from multiple points of view.

X BOOK

Create a minibook which is also a miniposter

Let's build a minibook through a thoughtful use of multiple folds made by hand with a single sheet of paper and decorate it, taking inspiration from the works present in Arnaldo Pomodoro's Studio. We can leaf through it page by page once folded or keep it open like a small poster: so much magic between our fingers...

POP-UP 

Let's build a POP-UP card or leporello through some Kirigami mechanisms

Inspired by the works present in Arnaldo Pomodoro's Studio, we create a card or a pop-up leporello using the oriental technique of carving and folding Kirigami paper to obtain three-dimensional shapes and give life to "animated" subjects.

Materials: paper, scissors, glue
Technique paper handling, folds, small cuts, collage
Finalità: learn simple papermaking techniques
Procedimento: each participant has their own workstation and creates their own product

UN SEDICESIMO

Let's build a hand-bound notebook with a needle and thread

We create a booklet, which is technically called "Sedicesimo" and consists of a series of assembled sheets and an elaborate cover. We bind and finally illustrate with stamps, matrices and other supports made available, taking inspiration from the works present in the studios.

Materials: paper, scissors, glue, pencils, markers, stamps, various materials, needle and thread
Medium: paper handling, folding, small cuts, collage, binding
Finalità: apprendere semplici tecniche di cartotecnica e legatoria
Method: ogni partecipante ha la sua postazione di lavoro e realizza il proprio manufatto
