The new proposal from Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro for Junior High schools was made possible thanks to the support of the Fondazione Cariplo. An interactive training experience that unites students and teachers in the construction of a personal and collective story. A digital and analogue journey to discover oneself and one's memory, freely inspired by the biography of Arnaldo Pomodoro.

The project took shape through two years of co-design work during which over 30 professionals were involved, including teachers, cultural operators and game designers, and prototyping and experimentation which saw the participation of over 300 male and female students from 6 institutes including Milan and Novara. A useful proposal for the School because it was designed together with the School.

To learn:
to listen, observe, communicate;
to recognize and share skills and competences;
to participate and collaborate for a common goal;
to act autonomously and responsibly;
to solve problems;
to identify connections and relationships;
to acquire and interpret information;
to have greater self-awareness and know how to relate to others.

SMARTSCHOOLING it is made up of various activities that are independent of each other but which together contribute to the construction of a personal or collective archive to be created over the course of one or more school years. The activities were designed to be carried out partly digitally and partly analogically, some in the classroom and others in Arnaldo Pomodoro's studio, while others still include tours around the city, in the places where the sculptor's works are located.

The project consists of the following elements

Missione Pietrarubbia

Is a collaborative team game inspired by Arnaldo Pomodoro's archive, set in an imaginary galaxy and in a distant time in which the class must face challenges that require the use of logic, intuition, practical sense and exchange of knowledge. It is a game to play in class, made up of a video game and large format maps and cards, based on the dynamics of exploration and communication typical of the escape game. Each player is asked to compete with their own skills, respecting shared rules, through observation, listening and collaboration skills. The game ends with the start of building a personal archive: what will be the first object that the boys and girls choose to archive? The game is accompanied byl «"log book"designed for teachers as a work tool to use during the school year.

Diario di bordo

It is the manual in pdf format where there are in-depth studies connected to the Missione Pietrarubbia game and educational sheets of experiential and inspirational activities for the construction of an individual and/or class archive to be developed independently during the school year or over the course of three years.

Laboratori e Visite guidate

They are exclusive moments of discussion and in-depth analysis of the artist's life and work, to be carried out in Arnaldo Pomodoro's studio or in places where the artist's works are present. To touch and experience the sculptor's artistic techniques firsthand.

The objectives of SMARTSCHOOLING

Stress and strengthen soft and life skills, that is, the fundamental personal, social and methodological skills in school training courses. Thanks to the richness of the themes and contents addressed in the course, the proposal also lends itself to an integration between different disciplinary courses, including, in addition to that of art, also that of literature, foreign languages, civic education, technical education and science.

SMARTSCHOOLING it is an ongoing project that sets as its next objectives to bring some of the activities proposed to schools throughout Italy and to experiment with the collaborative team game Missione Pietrarubbia also in the High Schools..
